TinyWall ist eine zweite Verteidigungslinie hinter der in Windows eingebauten Firewall. Die Freeware kontrolliert den ein- und ausgehenden Datenfluss und blockt unautorisierten Datenaustausch.

TinyWall verzichtet bewusst auf Popup-Meldungen an den Anwender. Statt dessen arbeitet die Sicherheitssoftware mit so genannten White-Listen. Bis auf die wichtigsten Windows-Dienste blockt TinyWall zunächst alle Apps die eine Datenverbindung aufbauen wollen. Um eine Freigabe zu erhalten, steuert man die Software via dem Programmmenü in der Taskleiste. Hier editiert man mit wenigen Mausklicks die Verbindungsfreigabe sowie die Whitelist oder deaktiviert die Firewall.

Mit dem kostenlosen TinyWall verbessern sicherheitsbewusste Nutzer ihren Schutz bei Ausflügen ins Netz. Die Freeware sollte jedoch immer nur als sinnvolle Ergänzung zu einer bestehenden Firewall beziehungsweise Antivirensoftware angesehen werden.

    GlassWire now has an option to send alerts to the Windows Event Log. This feature was requested because it allows GlassWire's alerts to be picked up by third party network security monitoring systems. To turn this on go to the top left GlassWire menu and choose "settings".
    GlassWire now keeps all public ports closed unless its remote monitoring feature is turned on. Then one port is opened to allow access to that feature. Visit GlassWire's help guide to learn more about our remote monitoring feature.

Mit der Freeware "Windows Firewall Notifier" wird die Firewall von Windows um eine zusätzliche grafische Oberfläche erweitert.
Die integrierte Firewall verrichtet eigentlich gute Dienste, nur bekommt man davon nichts mit. Wer über Ein- und Ausgehende Verbindungen informiert sein möchte und diese Verbindungen auch selber erlauben oder verbieten möchte, der bekommt mit dieser Freeware die Möglichkeit dazu.

This is the first beta release of WFN 2.5, with huge changes:

    migrated to .NET 5.0 (the alpha went through .NET Core 3.1 first, but 5.0 was here so... why not)
    new layout and design.
    fixes and improvements.
    an important one (do not miss it!): Notifier will now run in the background and will stay open, if you enable notification. This fixes all CPU related issues, and multiple Notifier.exe process spawning as well. Please tell us if the "old mode" was best for you, I might reintroduce it later.
    libraries updates (note: the used libraries and dependencies will be added soon in the about page - the main change being Oxyplot for the bandwidth graph instead of a custom one).

Versions

You can either pick the AnyCPU build (if you already have .NET 5.0 installed), or the x64 / x86 builds depending on your CPU if you want a standalone version (which also offers better performance).
Please note that the IP database is always embedded, if you'd like a lighter version without it, feel free to tell.

As usual, this is a beta release, not all cases have been tested and you might encounter unexpected behavior. Please report them in the Issues page (or open a new discussion through the new GitHub feature if you have some ideas, improvements, and so on!).
