Alternate Pic View is a program that enables you to view image files and make some adjustments. It supports multiple formats, including BMP, JPG, PCX, TGA and WMF.

The interface of the application is familiar and easy to work with. Images can be imported with the help of the file browser or 'drag and drop' method. So, you can use some basic editing tools, such as line, arrow, rectangle, freehand, fill, text and pen, along with the undo and redo functions. But you can also zoom in and out, switch to full screen mode, create a slideshow, enable thumbnail view mode, crop a selection and make Alternate Pic View retain the EXIF/IPTC information.

Alternate Pic View allows you to apply several effects to the pictures; they revolve around rotation, mirror, flip, invert, sharpen, blur, contrast, brightness, pixelization, noise and red eye removal, just to name a few.

The graphic editing tool supports keyboard shortcuts and multiple languages for the interface, has a good response time and contains user documentation. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing; Alternate Pic View did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs throughout our testing.  Thanks to its intuitive layout, less experienced users can easily find their way around this app.

FastPhotoTagger is an application designed to help you open and preview images in order to  view, edit and set their tags and metadata. By defining abbreviations for the most common tag values, you can tag an image with a few keystrokes in a matter of seconds.

    Search Database:

    A new operation, "is contained in", has been added to the search term dropdown menu. Use this operation to search for a keyword in a hierarchical keyword structure. The structure is defined in a keyword list file. This operation provides some of the benefits of hierarchical keywords without actually using them. See the documentation.

    Image Viewing:

    avif files are now recognized as image files. These files are viewable if you have ImageMagick installed.
    webm files are now recognized as video files. Thumbnails are shown if FFMPEG is installed. The video may be played if VLC is installed. These files are not writable by ExifTool.
    psd files are now viewable if you have ImageMagick installed. Multiple layers in one file may be viewed as a slideshow.

    Settings:

    In "Program Settings / Metadata", the "Metadata Tags" column now provides a drop down list of frequently used tags from which you may select instead of type.

    Keywords dialog:

    The dialog now starts up with focus on the Search field.

    ExifTool Command Builder:

    The ExifTool Command Builder text input dialogs now provide a drop down list of frequently used tags from which you may select instead of type.
    A Formatting & Control option, "-IPTC:CodedCharacterSet=UTF8" has been added.

    Fixes:

    On Windows, building the database failed when using a folder with thousands of images and very long filenames.
    On some Mac systems, the hyperlinks in "About FastPhotoTagger" did not work. Contact the author if you still have this problem.

FrameFun is a simple application with a straightforward UI that allows you to select an outer frame, a border around the image, and a drop shadow for a 3D effect. It lets you modify the color and width of each Frame, Border, and Shadow. Additionally, you can modify the direction of the drop shadow. You can also add watermarks to the images.

FrameFun includes a Batch Conversion option so you can frame several pictures at once. If the pictures have different sizes, you can select a relative Frame/Border/Shadow width.

ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

Painting 4 can now run without erasing the previous painting. This can be useful to mix effects or to start with broad brushtrokes and then load finer brushes and run the effect again. To run Painting 4 without erasing the previous image, RIGHT-CLICK on the Draw button instead of left-clicking.
The scripting function (press the F5 function key to open the window) can also run the Painting 4 effect without erasing the result image. Just add the line "Don't erase background" before adding a Painting 4 effect line in your script.
 Painting 4 now has an svg export (once the effect has finished, a SVG button will appear, below the HD button). This exports the basic rectangles, not the brushstrokes.
