Wem das allgegenwärtige WinAmp zu langweilig, überladen oder schlicht zu nervig wird für den gibt es einige Alternativen. Eine davon ist AIMP. Der Mp3-Player aus dem russischen Lande ist für WinAmp-Umsteiger sehr bedienungsfreundlich, da das Interface auf den ersten Blick dem von WinAmp ähnelt. Auch der Aufbau der einzelnen Fenster ist WinAmp-like. Man findet das Hauptfenster, die Playlist und den Equalizer vor, die man natürlich auch alle ausblenden lassen kann.

Der Vorteil von AIMP ist das ressourcenschonende Arbeiten. Es nimmt längst nicht so viel Arbeitsspeicher ein wie WinAmp. Zudem startet es schneller.

Durch einige schöne Skins und, im Moment noch, wenige Plugins lässt sich AIMP optisch anpassen und um Funktionen erweitern.
Es werden die gängigen Formate wie Mp3, OGG, WAV usw. unterstützt ebenso Onlineradio-Streams.

Bei der Installation sollte man sich von den komischen Zeichen nicht abschrecken lassen. Man muss sich einfach durchklicken, um dann nach der Installation die Deutsche Sprache auswählen zu können.
