RouterOS (v6.40rc36-rc40 and) v6.41rc1+ contains new bridge implementation that supports hardware offloading (hw-offload).
This update will convert all interface "master-port" configuration into new bridge configuration, and eliminate "master-port" option as such.
Bridge will handle all Layer2 forwarding and the use of switch-chip (hw-offload) will be automatically turned on based on appropriate conditions.
The rest of RouterOS Switch specific configuration remains untouched in usual menus for now.
Please, note that downgrading to previous RouterOS versions will not restore "master-port" configuration, so use backups to restore configuration on downgrade.

PingView is a simple network monitor. After running a wizard, it creates a visual tree of important network components. While it runs, it wakes up periodically and checks that all required components are on-line and accessible.

PingView does real-time monitoring of small- to medium-sized wired and wireless networks using a variety of testing methods such as the well-known "ping" and selective TCP port probing. (Most modern routers, modems and wireless equipment respond to standard "pings".) Instead of specifying network elements in a flat list, PingView allows you to indicate the network "topology", or the relationships between elements. For example, your router should respond to a "ping" before your DNS server is tested, since a router failure will block all further access to the Internet.

When a failure occurs, PingView clearly marks the location of the failure. The target information can contain the location of the device and the corrective action to be taken (restart, call someone, etc).

PingGUI is a graphical user interface for pinging multiple IP addresses and more.

This utility can be used to determine connection speeds and whether or not there is a connection at all. It is a visually pleasing alternative to the command prompt. It provides you with color-coded destinations that can be easily entered for pinging. PingGUI can be configured for a specific delay or timeout rate, scanning of IP address ranges and connections can also be kept alive if desired.

PingGUI also includes the option to perform traceroute (tracert) on multiple hosts as well as IP configuration (ipconfig). All data generated can be written to CSV or a text file.
