Mit File Governor von NoVirusThanks können von Windows gesperrte Dateien und Ordner gesucht, freigegeben und gelöscht werden. Das passiert über die Programmoberfläche, bzw. bei der installierten Version kann das auch über das Kontextmenü vom Explorer erfolgen. Dazu werden dann Prozesse beendet, die auf die entsprechende Datei zugreift. Open Handles werden geschlossen und DLL Dateien entladen. Gesperrte Dateien können auch beim nächsten Neustart gelöscht werden.
