Wer ein Auto besitzt, der sollte auch einen Werkzeugkasten besitzen – ähnlich verhält es sich mit Windows-PCs und der Sysinternals Suite. Mit dieser umfangreichen Sammlung von über 60 Tools lässt sich nämlich beinahe nach Belieben an Windows herumschrauben – entweder zum Feintuning oder um Schäden am System zu reparieren. So erhält man beispielsweise mit Autoruns eine detaillierte und vollständige Liste über alle Dienste und Anwendungen, die beim Systemstart ausgeführt werden, sowie eine Aufzählung aller Handler, die sich in Kontextmenüs und andere Betriebssystemfunktionen einklinken. Diese lassen sich dann auch nach Bedarf aktivieren und deaktivieren. Mit weiteren Programmen analysiert man aktuell laufenden Prozesse, begutachtet die Startreihenfolge von Treibern oder stellt die Verwaltung des Cache-Speichers um. PREDATOR locks your PC when you are away, even if your Windows session is still opened. It uses a regular USB flash drive as an access control device, and works as follows:

you insert the USB drive
you run PREDATOR (autostart with Windows is possible)
you do your work...
when you're away from your PC, you simply remove the USB drive:
- once it is removed, the keyboard and mouse are disabled and the screen darkens
when you return back to your PC, you put the USB flash drive in place:
- keyboard and mouse are immediately released, and the display is restored.

Updated the tweaking_ras.exe and Tweaking_rati.exe. These are both used to run repairs as the system account or trusted installer. To do this they create themselves as a service and run the command, then remove the service they created. The problem was that on some systems, Windows wasn't removing the service fast enough before the next one was called and created. Since the service name was the same, the next one created wouldn't be called (Since it was in the process of being removed by Windows) and the repair wouldn't start. Both of these programs now randomize their service name to keep this from happening.

The program now will try to start a repair up to 3 more times if it fails to start the first time (For a total of 4 times and 30 sec between each try). So now if there is ever a simple hiccup or problem that kept the repair from running then the program will try again and normally it will continue on. If it fails to run a repair 4 times then the repairs stop and the program tells you to let me know in the forums, where I will work with you to find out why they didn't run.

Fixed a bug where the program didn't close itself if you told it to reboot or shutdown the systems after the repairs.

AdwCleaner versucht Adware, Toolbars und eine veränderte Homepage im Browser zu entfernen. Dazu wird zuerst ein Suchlauf gestartet und im Anschluss erhält man eine TXT-Datei mit den Ergenissen angezeigt. Sollten mehrere Sachen gefunden werden, kann man leider nicht einzeln auswählen, was gelöscht werden soll. Einzig vor dem Suchlauf hat man die Möglichkeit, bestimmte Sachen auszuschließen. Dazu klickt man oben Links auf das Fragezeichen->Optionen.

"Don't Sleep" ist ein kleines Programm, welches während der Laufzeit verhindert, daß der PC in den Standby Modus oder Ruhezustand wechselt. Gerade beim neuen Windows-7, wie auch Vista, gibt es den Hybriden Standby-Modus. Dieser ist ziemlich aggressiv, und aktiviert sich auch teilweise bei höherer CPU-Last.
