The WinGUI includes all features of the former Tray Tool plus interactive editing of objects. It can be installed and used on multiple computers at once. You can continue to use the classic web-based interface, too.
o Connects to a PRTG Core Server through HTTP/HTTPS (using our own PRTG API)
o Displays the device tree, sensor list, alarms list, maps, reports etc.

o QoS (Quality of Service) sensor measures vital network connectivity parameters like jitter, packet loss, and packet delay variation between two probes – the perfect tool to find network issues that can affect VoIP sound quality or video streaming hickups. Some vendors would call this a “VoIP Sensor”.
o IP SLA Sensor (monitors results of IP-SLA on Cisco routers, some would call this a “VoIP Sensor”, too)
o Amazon CloudWatch Sensor uses data from Amazon’s CloudWatch service to monitor EC2 instances

* Improved Reporting o To improve reporting we have added new templates (Top 100 Lowest/highest sensor values, Top 100 best/worst uptime) as well as the following new default reports:

+ Top 100 Fastest/Slowest PING Sensors
+ Top 100 Most/Least Used Bandwidth Sensors

o Now also the Sensor selection for a report can be filtered by tag (e.g. to only include PING sensors in a report) and you can create “Working Hour” Reports (a schedule can be assigned to a report, data is only used for specified hours of day/week). And we have added new reports templates that only show data tables without graphs.
* New: "Historic Data" feature allows to dig into the historic data for a specific time frame. You can display or export the raw data (each single monitoring request) as well as averaged data (exports to HTML, XML, CSV)
* New: "Acknowledge Alarm" feature: Sensors with error state can be marked as “acknowleged”. User can enter a message which is shown with the username as long as the error state goes on (e.g. this allows to show a “I will handle this” message in sensor lists). As soon as an alarm has been acknowledged, no further escalation notifications will be send for this sensor.
* Updated: Improved “Unusual Detection”: Detection has been simplified and now looks at hour of day and day of week
* PRTG has been certified for the official “Works with Windows 2008 Server” logo by Microsoft
