Die Windows 7/8-Taskbar ist innovativ und gut gelungen. Mit dem Tool "7+ Taskbar Tweaker" können Sie die Bedienung der so genannten Superbar per Maus individualisieren und so noch komfortabler für Sie gestalten. Beispielsweise können Sie einstellen, dass bei einem Klick mit der mittleren Maustaste auf ein Taskbar-Icon sich nicht wie gewohnt eine neue Instanz öffnet, sondern ein Fenster geschlossen oder fokussiert wird. Außerdem lassen sich von Windows zusammengefasste Taskbar-Elemente wieder trennen - dauerhaft oder automatisch, wenn Sie mit der Maus die Icons überfahren. Eine weitere Option ist, dass bei einem Klick mit der rechten Maustaste auf ein Icon die klassischen Befehle der alten Taskleiste angezeigt werden, anstatt der neu eingeführten Jumplist. grepWin durchstöbert Dateien und Ordner nach komplexen Begriffen und regulären Ausdrücken. Die Freeware ersetzt auf Wunsch automatisch alle Suchtreffer auf einen Schlag.

Die Suchergebnisse werden in Listenform angezeigt. Ein Doppelklick auf die gewünschte Datei öffnet diese. Die Suche lässt sich mit grepWin mit diversen Parametern auf bestimmte Dateien eingrenzen. Häufig gesuchte Ausdrücke kann der Anwender als so genanntes Bookmark abspeichern. So lassen sich wiederkehrende Suchen mit ein paar Klicks erneut ausführen.

grepWin integriert sich auf Wunsch in das Kontextmenü des Windows Explorers, was das Durchsuchen von Dateien und Ordnern noch schneller und komfortabler macht. Die aktuelle Version der Freeware bietet diverse neue Funktionen beim Suchen und Ersetzen. Die Freeware beachtet die Groß- und Kleinschreibung und sucht auf Wunsch nur nach bestimmten Dateigrößen.

ScanDir has been developed to filter and print directory listings. Over time additional filter (selection, search) options have been added (e.g. Masks, multiple Strings and selections based upon file size, file date and file type). A group of selected files (items list) can be used to Delete, Copy, Move, Rename, Join, Split and change Attibutes of the selected files. File names can be copied to the clipboard, printed, saved as ASCII text file or as .CSV file (which can be imported by most spreadsheet programs). It is also possible to rename files during copy or move.
