Mit diesem Freeware-Tool lassen sich Dateien in mehrere kleine Teile splitten und natürlich auch wieder zusammen setzen. Man kann die Größe frei definieren. z.b. auf 650 MB, damit die einzelnen Teile auf einen CD-Rohling passen. Das Tool arbeitet mit dem Brenn-Programm "CopyToDVD" zusammen. Wenn dieses Brenn-Programm installiert ist, kann mit KFK direkt eine CD gebrannt werden.

Over time additional filter (selection, search) options have been added (e.g. Masks, multiple Strings and selections based upon file size, file date and file type). A group of selected files (items list) can be used to Delete, Copy, Move, Rename, Join, Split and change Attibutes of the selected files. File names can be copied to the clipboard, printed, saved as ASCII text file or as .CSV file (which can be imported by most spreadsheet programs). DSpeech is a text-to-speech program with the option of saving the output to a variety of formats, great for creating audio books from text sources. It also supports dynamically changing the features of the voices eg. insert pauses, emphasize specific words, spell them out etc. using tags.

The program can import text from TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, XML, and PDF and output to MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA.

DSpeech works out-of-the-box on WinXP and above because the Microsoft speech engine SAPI5 is included by default. For WinNT/2K, you will need to install the speech engine separately. You will find links to plugins, speech engines and voice sets on the program website.
