Die Jungs von Paragon werfen ja mittlerweile des Öfteren irgendwelche Spezialversionen ihrer Software auf den Markt, die dann kostenlos zu haben sind. So wie eben jenes in der Überschrift erwähnte Paragon System Backup 9.5, welches eigentlich ein echtes Paragon System Backup 2010 ist. Macht eben Backups vom System (a la Time Machine). Die jeweiligen Snapshots lassen sich auf anderen Partitionen oder USB-Sticks sichern.

In den Einstellungen könnt ihr Ausschusslisten für bestimmte Dateitypen einstellen, Häufigkeit des Backups und natürlich die Anzahl der zu speichernden Snapshots. Wie immer bei Paragon: Software runterladen und per E-Mail auf dieser Seite den Key anfordern. Trashmail & Co funktionieren, falls jemand also keinen Nerv auf Werbung hat. Ach ja: läuft auf 32Bit & 64Bit.

BSH: Wichtiges Update 3.3.1.3 veröffentlicht

Aufgrund eines Fehlers in der letzten Version, erstellte Backup Service Home 3 keine Datensicherungen bzw. kopierte keine Dateien. Mit diesem Update wird dieser kritische Fehler behoben. Es wird jedem Benutzer empfohlen das Update zu installieren. Das Releasepaket wurde ebenso aktualisiert.

Erstellen Sie mit der Freeware "DriveImage XML" Backups zur Datensicherung.
 
Mit dem kostenlosen Backup-Tool "DriveImage XML" können Sie Images von Festplatten, die in FAT 12, 16, 32 und NTFS formatiert sind, sichern und wiederherstellen.

Das Programm verwendet dafür die Volume Shadow Services (VSS) von Microsoft, was den Vorteil hat, dass Sie Images sogar von Laufwerken erstellen können, die gerade genutzt werden.

Die fertigen Images können Sie durchsuchen und alle oder nur bestimmte Dateien wiederherstellen. Praktischerweise müssen Sie nach dem Wiederherstellen eines Laufwerkes Ihren Computer nicht neustarten.

Zur besseren Verwendung mit externen Drittprogrammen werden die Backups im XML-Format gespeichert.

Möchte man mit DriveImage die Systempartition sichern, muss man allerdings einiges beachten.

Vielleicht mal wieder ein kleiner Tipp für alle, die sich auf der Suche nach einem Programm für Backups befinden.Ocster Backup Business 1.00 gibt es normalerweise nicht kostenlos, aber PC Welt bietet es bis einschließlich 26.06.2010 in Zusammenarbeit mit den Machern kostenlos an.



Ocster Backup Business 1.00 sichert dabei eure Daten auf allerlei externe Speichermedien (USB-Stick, Netzlaufwerk…) und verfügt dabei auch über Versionierung. Dabei bleiben ältere oder veränderte Dateien auch im Backup erhalten.

Backups lassen sich auch mit einem Passwort versehen und mit bis zu 256Bit AES verschlüsseln. Interessantes Feature: schön auf mehren Rechnern installieren und von eurem PC aus verwalten



Ocster Backup Business 1.00 läuft unter Windows, sowohl 32Bit, als auch64Bit. Gerade kleine Büros sollten sich das Programm mal anschauen, ist es schließlich auch für den kommerziellen Einsatz gedacht. Vielleicht als Ergänzung zu einem NAS oder so…



Die PC Welt hat dazu einiges in ihrem Ratgeber geschrieben. Wer interessiert ist, liest bei der PC Welt weiter. Auch findet ihr dort die Downloadmöglichkeit.



Im Verlauf der Installation werdet ihr aufgefordert die Seriennummer einzugeben. Die könnt ihr dann direkt aus dem Setup anfordern, Trashmail funktioniert, selber getestet.

Bug fixes:

    * Disk Space Management for differential images and backups bug
      DSM options were being carried forward from the full image that was being appended to during the differential/Incremental edit process. This has been resolved and the correct DSM values are now stored in the XML file.
    * Using 'High Priority' could make Windows very slow to respond during a 'File and Folder' backup with many thousands of folders
      The highest thread priority is now THREAD_PRIORITY_HIGHEST instead of THREAD_PRIORITY_TIME_CRITICAL
    * Partition / Disk detection issue
      If a disk had a partition formatted beyond the end of the reported size of the disk then the disk would show no partitions available to image in the Reflect main Window. Reflect now extends the disk size if a partition is greater than the reported disk size.
    * Linux Ext partition incremental/differential problem with multiple disks
      If a Linux Ext2/3/4 partition is incremented and Windows detects the local disks in a different sequence after a reboot then Reflect would fail to identify the Linux partition for the incremental / differential image. This has been resolved.
    * VBScript - Email not sent for scheduled tasks on Vista/Server 2008
      By default, a subroutine is created in the VBScript source to 'elevate' the VBScript for User Account Control (UAC). The Windows 'User Profile Hive Cleanup Service' was incorrectly closing required registry keys (after 5 minutes) for both Reflect and WScript if the VBScript is scheduled and elevated at run time. A new parameter ("-s") is now passed to any scheduled VBScript source files that disable UAC elevation for scheduled tasks.
    * Linux rescue CD compatibility mode error
      When setting the Linux CD for 'Compatibility Mode' this could cause your network interface card (NIC) not to be detected. This has been resolved.
    * Program crash if application is closed while scanning disks.
      A program error would occur if Reflect was closed while the scanning disks 'Splash' window was showing. This has been resolved.
    * Program crash when deleting a scheduled task
      A program error could occur after deleting a freshly created scheduled task. This has been resolved.
    * Memory leak in ReflectService.exe
      A small memory leak has been fixed in ReflectService.exe.

Dropbox wartet einmal mehr mit neuen und nützlichen Features auf. Der momentan experimentelle Client mit der Versionsnummer 0.8.80 wartet mit einigen Änderungen auf (Linux, Windows und Mac OS X!). So könnt ihr nicht nur Dinge aus dem Public-Ordner sharen, sondern eben alles aus eurer Dropbox, egal um welche Datei es sich handelt.

Nachdem ihr dann eine Datei über “Get Shareable Link” freigegeben habt, wird euch diese noch einmal im Browser angezeigt – mit der Kurz-URL, die ihr dann euren Freunden geben könnt.

Finde ich ziemlich cool Ach ja, das funktioniert nicht nur mit einzelnen Dateien, sondern auch Ordnern.
