Titel: DVBSky S950, DiSEqC 1.0: Suchlauf funktioniert nur mit LNB 1 (von 4)
Beitrag von: Joutungwu am 17 Oktober, 2013, 21:01
Hallo,

ich habe folgende Sat-Positionen (Frequenzlisten) bei SmartDVB eingestellt: (Florian BDA DVB-S Device -> Automatic Detection (geniatech); BDA tuning mode: Direct), (jeweils nur Diseqc 1 settings, KU-Linear (Universal))

19.2°E: LNB1 comitted
13.0°E: LNB2 comitted
28.2°E: LNB3 comitted
7.0°E: LNB4 comitted

Habe ich da was falsch eingestellt?

http://www.smartdvb.net/bb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=407.

Es ist von ein dvbky nutzer getestet...

Best would be to run the current 0.3.5 beta builds, but it should also work with 0.3.0 if you're using that (let me know if you have issues with that)..

br,
jack

Thanks Jürgen! This leaded me to a solution: I looked at linuxtv.org which other card matches best to my hardware (Tuner, Demodulator, PCIe Bridge). Firstly, that wasn't successful. Than i played try and error with the Device types. I found out that the device type "TBS" seems to work perfectly for the DVBSky S950. Now i'm able to scan all of my 4 Sat-positions and tune to all channels successfully.  :jb

Here is my configuration of SmartDVB:

Selected Device: Florian BDA Device bda.dev 0.4.0 -> Professional DVB Digital TV DVBS2

Device Settings (Florian BDA settings)
--------------------------------------
Device Type: TBS
8PSK mode: 8PSK
BDA tuning mode: Direct (This is important, because standard tuning doesn't work for the s950)
Rest of settings: untouched

I meant the satellite settings for configured frequency lists. There you can find "Diseqc 1 settings", which i have configured (Commited LNB (1-4)) and underneath "Diseqc 2 settings", which i left untouched. I would like to know why there are these "Diseqc 2 settings". They have the same options as "Diseqc 1 settings".

Thank you, jackjavo, for your great work!  ;Beifall :jo

Best regards
Joutungwu

PS: Actually i bought a Mystique Sky Xpress V2 DVB-S/S2 PCIe card, but this seems to be only a label from the dvbshop. It's 100 % identical to the DVBSky S950! The DVbSky logo and the designation S950 can be found on the card.
Sorry, for my poor english.

Hello again,

Your test bda.dev works as well with SmartDVB 0.3.0, jackjavo. Tuning and scaning with the s950 is no problem. I'll perform a full Sat-Scan next with that device, because my scans on different test Transponders seem to find more channels than with the old dvb.dev + TBS device type, but this is only an assumption. I'll check this later and let you know, if that is really the case. Update from NIT works also now (I didn't tested that with former bda.dev + TBS device type yet).

SmartDVB settings now:
Florian BDA Device bda.dev 0.2.0 (version number decreased?) ->  Professional DVB Digital TV DVBS2
--------------------------------------
Device Type: DVBSky/benustar
8PSK mode: 8PSK
BDA tuning mode: Direct
Rest of settings: untouched

 :jo

PS: The native IR-remote of the S950 runs with the new bda.dev!    :borg  :jo

My assumption was wrong. I can find 2531 channels (TV/Radio/Data on 7.0°,13.0°,19.2°,28.2° E) with the old dvb.dev + TBS device type and 2526 channels with the new dvb.dev + DVBSky/benustar device type. There is no mentionable difference. I used the frequency lists from KingOfSat and added all available transponders from the other sources to scan a maximum number of frequencies.

But there is a big difference between the scans of SmartDVB and Mediaportal. The Mediaportal scan finds 4498 channels (TV/Radio on 7.0°,13.0°,19.2°,28.2° E).

Sorry, that was my mistake! "Show Scrambled Channels" was unchecked in the Channel List Properties. Now I have 5128 channels (TV/Radio/Data) in the channel list of SmartDVB.

ok good to know, you had me scared for a moment. Now you mention it it's not uncommon for people to make that mistake with the station filter settings, i'll think about a visual solution for that for the future so people realise better what's going on.

Interesting to know btw that the TBS device type works for you. Just out of curiosity, do the 'new tbs interfaces' also work for your device (there are some more interface checks there).

The numbering used to be 0.0.4 for the bda.dev versioning, so 0.2.0 should actually be newer (unless i made an error with some released bda.dev some time ago) :)

Btw just out of curiosity how does the number of stations found compare to MP without the data stations, is it about the same? It should about be for normal satelllite positions.

Yes, it seems to run as good as the old TBS interface or the new DVBSky/benustar interface. There is no problem with scaning or tuning on my four satellite positions. But the native IR-remote works only with the DVBSky/benustar interface.

The number of all TV/Radio stations found by SmartDVB is 4642. The Mediaportal scan found 4498 TV/Radio stations. I think this is quite equal in consideration of my attempt to maximize the number of transponder frequencies by combining all available sources in SmartDVB and the fact that the source of the updated transponder lists in Mediaportal is unknown to me. According to kingofsat lists there should be 4956 TV/Radio stations available. The difference here is probably caused by squinting LNBs and insufficient dish diameters. All in all enough stations were found ;D.

BTW, places like kingofsat usually list and count transponders of all beams of a satellite system.
As some beams can't be received from over here, e.g. due to pointing to Africa or Great Britiain only, those and the stations on there would not be found on a scan

And then some other transponders and stations may be active only temporarily but listed anyway.
Also there may be some double listings, due to old entries not being removed yet.
And some stations aren't active all day, possibly even missing place holders in the NIT then.

All together, the total sum of stations to be scanned may vary by time, location, dish size, tuner limitations on symbol rate range (e.g. for SCPC) and more.
