LAV Filters - ffmpeg based DirectShow Splitter and Decoders

LAV Filters are a set of DirectShow filters based on the libavformat and libavcodec libraries
from the ffmpeg project, which will allow you to play virtually any format in a DirectShow player.

The filters are still under Development, so not every feature is finished, or every format supported.

und

This currently includes (but is not limited to)
MKV/WebM, AVI, MP4/MOV, TS/M2TS/MPG, FLV, OGG, BluRay (.bdmv and .mpls)

Titel: LAV CUVID Decoder 0.10
Beitrag von: SiLæncer am 16 August, 2011, 16:59
Its still in very early stages, but it already supports all major formats that the NVIDIA hardware can decode, which are right now H264, VC-1, MPEG2 and MPEG4-ASP (DivX/Xvid). Both progressive and interlaced types are supported.

As a bonus, when decoding interlaced content, it can do full adaptive deinterlacing, the best your GPU has to offer.

Important Note:

- This is a decoder for NVIDIA GPUs, it does not work with ATI/AMD or Intel, and it never will!

Changes in LAV CUVID Decoder 0.10:

- Refuse connection to MPEG-2 4:2:2 material
- Improved VC-1 interlaced timestamp handling
• LAV CUVID Decoder 0.9:
- Slightly faster seeking
- Improvements to dynamic format changes
- Safe-Guards against crashes inside the NVIDIA decoding functions

Changes in v0.41

LAV Splitter:

-New MKV Demuxer (see release notes for details)
-Fixed a bug with the Vorbis Media Type
-Disabled Subtitles when generating Thumbnails in Explorer

LAV Video:

-Fixed a overflow in 10 -> 8 bit dithering and NV12 output

Notes:
New MKV Demuxer
What does that bring us?
-Faster and more accurate seeking
-Better handling of incomplete/broken files

No really \"new\" features yet, just a new basis for future enhancements. It will usually work much smoother then before, however, and so far no regressions have been reported.

Important: If a MKV file breaks that played fine with 0.40 or earlier, please report those cases, preferably with a sample file!
I hope it won\'t happen too often, but i would be surprised if it never happens, but here is hoping!

The other changes are pretty minor, fixed a small glitch in the 10 -> 8bit dithering code that could overflow in some cases, but nothing really widely spread i suppose, since it took so long until it was noticed.
