In den USA hat Youtube bereits Verträge mit zahlreichen Major-Labels geschlossen, deren Musikinhalte von Youtube-Nutzern legal hochgeladen werden können. Mit Warner Music steht diese Einigung noch aus. Die Software enthält zusätzlich den Muziic Encoder, der aus einer MP3-Datei und beliebigen Bilddateien ein Flash-Video generiert, das man direkt auf Youtube hochladen kann.

In Deutschland ist zumindest das Hochladen urheberrechtlich geschützter Werke nicht unproblematisch. Zwar hat Youtube Ende 2007 eine Vereinbahrung mit der GEMA getroffen, allerdings bedarf es zum legalen Einstellen von Inhalten nach wie vor der Einwilligung des jeweiligen Interpreten – selbst nachsingen ist erlaubt.

Unabhängig von dieser Problematik kann man Muziic auch hierzulande ohne Bedenken zum Anhören von Musiktiteln nutzen. Es lassen sich beliebige Abspiellisten zusammenstellen, wobei der Client bei der Wiedergabe auch die Videos wiedergibt. Einen ähnlichen Dienst bietet auch das Portal songza.com, das zusätzlich noch Inhalte anderer Videoportale einbindet.

Vorgehensweise ist easy: Bookmarklet irgendwo in die Lesezeichen werfen, gewünschtes YouTube Video im Browser aufrufen und Bookmarklet anklicken:

wenn man sich Videos aus dem Netz sichern will, dann braucht man oftmals Programme oder eben Erweiterungen / Scripte für den favorisierten Browser. Damals konnte aTube Catcher Filme von YouTube & Co herunter laden und konvertieren. Nicht mehr.

Mittlerweile ist die kostenlose Software zu einer fast eierlegenden Wollmilchsau geworden. Nicht nur Filme können von den verschiedenen Portalen geladen werden (nicht nur die gängigen, auch XXX), es können auch Strreams aufgenommen werden, allerlei Dateien konvertiert werden und auch DVDs mit den Medien gebrannt werden.

Für die ganz Faulen sind auch Suchmaschinen hinzugekommen. So lasen sich nicht nur MP3s suchen, auch YouTube lässt sich direkt durchsuchen. Für nackte Haut ist auch gesorgt, andere Videoportale werden auch durchsucht.

Mal wieder Alternativen zum ganzen Gedöns, dass ich euch schon um die Ohren gehauen habe, damit ihr Videos von YouTube laden könnt oder die Musik als MP3 direkt bekommt: AudioThief (http://www.audiothief.com/de-de/Video). AudioThief ist entweder ein Webdienst, bei dem ihr die YouTube-Adresse in das Eingabefeld klöppelt, alternativ könnt ihr eine Erweiterung für Google Chrome oder Firefox nutzen. Das macht die Sache bequem: auf einer YouTube-Videoseite den Button klicken, kurz warten und schon werden euch Video und MP3 zum Download kredenzt ;)

Um Filme aus der Mediathek zu zerren, gibt es ja diverse Möglichkeiten. Allerdings tritt ab und an das Problem auf, dass nicht alle Filme gefunden werden, obwohl diese online verfügbar sind.

Die Lösung heißt in diesem Falle StreamTransport (http://www.streamtransport.com/). Die Software erkennt eingebettete Videos und bietet die Möglichkeit des Downloads an. Einfach die Adresse der Seite mit dem Video in die Software klöppeln und im unteren Teil des Programms den Download anwerfen.
