FirefoxDownloadsView displays the list of the latest files that you downloaded with Firefox. For every download record, the following information is displayed: Download URL, Download Filename (with full path), Referrer, MIME Type, File Size, Start/End Time, Download Duration, and Average Download Speed.

Die Programmierer hinter Firefox sind nach eigenen Angaben fast fertig mit dem neuen Design für den freien Browser. Das unter dem Codenamen Australis entwickelte Design soll die gesamte Anmutung auffrischen. Weil einige Neuerungen wie das neue Menü-Design radikal vom Bisherigen abweichen, erfordert Australis auch tief gehende Änderungen des Quelltext – weshalb man einen Australis-Firefox nicht einfach per about:config-Einstellung wieder ins alte Design zurück bekommt.

Was soll das denn werden?

Eine Titelleiste ohne Fenstertitel ist Platzverschwendung. Die dort einzig noch verbliebenen Knöpfe für Minimieren, Maximieren und Schließen hätte man, wenn man denn unbedingt Platz sparen will, in die verbliebene Schalter- und Tableiste verlegen können.
Das kennen wir zudem längst von Thunderbird, und natürlich habe ich da den Fenstertitel wieder eingeblendet.

Die standardmäßig ausgeblendete Menüleiste ist auch nicht neu, aber immer noch sinnlos.

Design ist bei solchen Anwendungen kein Selbstzweck, sondern sollte die Bedienung erleichtern.
Insofern Aufgabe meilenweit verfehlt.
