Known Issues:

·         The fix for the SDK database load error issue referenced above is not a permanent fix, but rather a work-around as we continue to investigated these errors.  As soon as we have a more permanent solution we plan to roll back the work-around and again honor the “Check for updates before scanning” setting.  We should hopefully have this ready for our next release, which will be coming soon.
·         If you continue to see these errors after installing 2.1.6, then please reduce the overall number of scheduled scans and updates you have set up.  If you stick with the default daily Threat Scan and one scheduled Update Check every couple hours, then you should be fine.

Der Algorithmus, mit dem Malwarebytes seine Lizenzschlüssel erstellt, führt dazu, dass legitime Nutzer auf Kosten von Raubkopierern in die Röhre schauen. Jetzt schenkt die Firma Nutzern mit gefälschten Schlüsseln deswegen Lizenzen.

Der Anti-Viren-Hersteller Malwarebytes hat Probleme mit seinem Lizenzschlüssel-Generator. Raubkopierer, die gefälschte Lizenzschlüssel für die Software erstellen, bringen legitime Nutzer in Bedrängnis, da die gefälschten Schlüssel oft mit echten kollidieren. Das liegt daran, dass Malwarebytes nach eigenen Angaben einen Algorithmus benutzt, der dieser Aufgabe nicht gewachsen ist. Jetzt steigen die Entwickler auf eine andere Methode zur Erzeugung der Schlüssel um und bieten Raubkopierern – und legitimen Nutzern mit beeinträchtigtem Schlüssel – kostenlose Lizenzen an.

Der Gründer der Firma spricht im Malwarebytes-Support-Forum klare Worte: Als er den Schlüssel-Algorithmus eingebaut habe, habe er Probleme solcher Art nicht bedacht. "Ich hatte absolut keine Ahnung, wie erfolgreich wir heute sein würden", sagt Marcin Kleczynski. Der neue Schlüssel-Generator soll das ändern. Allerdings beschweren sich in dem Forum auch viele Nutzer, die Lizenzen gekauft haben und jetzt wegen Raubkopierern nicht mehr benutzen können.

Wenn Malwarebytes problematische Schlüssel erkennt, werden die Nutzer deswegen jetzt im Zuge des sogenannten Amnesty-Programms über einen Hinweis in der Software informiert. Dort können sich dann auch Raubkopierer eine zwölfmonatige, kostenlose Lizenz aktivieren. Wer stattdessen die Option mit der Aufschrift "Ich habe meinen Schlüssel gekauft" wählt, erhält eine Ersatzlizenz. Laut dem Blog TorrentFreak handelt es sich dabei um eine kostenlose Lizenz auf Lebenszeit, bei Malwarebytes ist von der gleichen Lizenz wie vorher die Rede. Ob Malwarebytes prüft, ob der Nutzer tatsächlich eine Lizenz gekauft hatte, ist nicht bekannt.
