PDF-XChange Editor is a feature-rich PDF viewer and editor with a tabbed interface. The program includes edition of text-based PDFs, OCR of image based/scanned PDF's to fully text-searchable PDFs, full document spellchecking, rotate/crop documents, add comments/annotations to any PDF file, QR codes, and more. You can apply custom stamps from any image/PDF file/Windows clipboard, mark-up pages with text and objects, and add/edit hyperlinks.

The program supports export to text or image (BMP/JPEG/TIFF/PNG etc.).

Note: The free PDF-XChange Editor lacks some features present in the registered version (payware). Some "Pro" features noted with with a shopping cart icon can be used, but add a watermark upon saving.

Der PDF24 Creator 10.6.1 bringt ein Sicherheitsupdate, welches eine Schwachstelle behebt, wodurch es für einen Angreifer möglich wird, Programme mit erhöhten Rechten auszuführen. Das Problem wurde uns kürzlich mitgeteilt. Wir haben dieses Problem untersucht und drei Änderungen am Programm vorgenommen, die das Problem lösen und damit die Software sicherer macht. Firmen wird empfohlen, auf den PDF24 Creator 10.6.1 umzustellen.

Verwendung von Ghostscript 9.55

Ghostscript 9.55 behebt ein Sicherheitsproblem, wodurch es für einen Angreifer möglich wird, Programme mit erhöhten Rechten auszuführen. Dies ist nicht wünschenswert, vor allem nicht im Firmenkontext. Daher verwenden wir nun diese Version, damit dieses Problem aus der Welt geschafft wird.

Verwendung eines besseren Security Descriptors bei den User-Printer-Pipes

Bei den User-Printer-Pipes verwenden wir nun einen anderen Security Descriptor, sodass nur noch LocalSystem, Administratoren und der User selber schreibenden Zugriff darauf haben. Die User-Printer-Pipes sind dafür zuständig, die Druckaufträge vom PDF Drucker anzunehmen und weiterzuleiten. Diese Einschränkung trägt ebenfalls dazu bei, die Sicherheit zu erhöhen.

User-Printer-Pipe Server für Local System User nicht immer starten

Der entsprechende Server für die User-Printer-Pipes wird für den Local System Account nicht mehr gestartet, wenn dies nicht unbedingt nötig ist. Nötig ist dies nur, wenn die Konfigurationsoption AutoSaveAsService verwendet wird. Dies ist selten der Fall und daher muss dieser Server nicht gestartet werden, was ebenfalls zur Erhöhung der Sicherheit beiträgt.
