Backwards-Compatibility Support Policy
Malwarebytes urges all customers in the strongest possible language to plan an update path to Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50. The stability and security improvements in this version are staggering, and although we will support older versions of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (see below), simply put: you will not be as well-protected with older versions as you will be with 1.50.
We will support each version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware until one year after the release of its successor. So, we will support Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46 (and all previous versions, which we will consider "grandfathered-in") until one year after the public release of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50. After that, we will require an update to 1.50 or later in order to provide support. We think this is a reasonable policy that balances both our need to keep our customers' software up-to-date, and our customers' need to ensure reliability in their own environments.

We've re-architected the underlying application so it now runs as a standard Windows Service instead of as a stand-alone EXE which used to be launched from the TaskScheduler. This new architecture means that MBAE now works in multi-user environments (multiple logged-on users and server environments) and it also limits the operations that non-admin users can perform. Therefore only admins can stop the protection, clear the logs or add/delete exclusions. There are many benefits to this new architecture, but one of the most visible ones is that it fixes the old disappearing traybar icon bug as well as some application crashes.
Under the new architecture there are a new set of log and auxiliary data files which can be found under the %AllUsersProfile% directory. Specifically under Windows XP this maps by default to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit and under Vista and above it maps to C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.If you are reporting a problem or bug, please ZIP or RAR the entire contents of the MBAE logs directory and attach it to your post.
In addition to the new architecture this new MBAE beta version also sports a new installer/uninstaller which can perform hot upgrades to new versions and which completely deletes its program directory when uninstalling. But please note hot-upgrades will only work from 0.10 and above. So if you still have a 0.09 build you will first need to uninstall it manually and then install the 0.10.0.1000 version. Once the next version of MBAE comes out you'll be able to perform the hot upgrade and won't have to manually uninstall anymore.

We reduced the size of the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialogs...for those who had trouble viewing the entire dialog these should at least now be more easily re-positioned.

Windows XP users with admin privileges should no longer get the "Run as" prompt to install an MBAM update
Reduced the width of the UI for some languages where it was way too wide (Note: there is a known issue where the UI size gets stuck and does not always “snap” back to the default size when you switch back to English, even if you try to manually resize. The fix for this is to Exit MBAM by right-clicking, choosing Exit and then re-launch the program.)

Der Anti-Viren-Hersteller Malwarebytes hat Probleme mit seinem Lizenzschlüssel-Generator. Raubkopierer, die gefälschte Lizenzschlüssel für die Software erstellen, bringen legitime Nutzer in Bedrängnis, da die gefälschten Schlüssel oft mit echten kollidieren. Das liegt daran, dass Malwarebytes nach eigenen Angaben einen Algorithmus benutzt, der dieser Aufgabe nicht gewachsen ist. Jetzt steigen die Entwickler auf eine andere Methode zur Erzeugung der Schlüssel um und bieten Raubkopierern – und legitimen Nutzern mit beeinträchtigtem Schlüssel – kostenlose Lizenzen an.
Der Gründer der Firma spricht im Malwarebytes-Support-Forum klare Worte: Als er den Schlüssel-Algorithmus eingebaut habe, habe er Probleme solcher Art nicht bedacht. "Ich hatte absolut keine Ahnung, wie erfolgreich wir heute sein würden", sagt Marcin Kleczynski. Der neue Schlüssel-Generator soll das ändern. Allerdings beschweren sich in dem Forum auch viele Nutzer, die Lizenzen gekauft haben und jetzt wegen Raubkopierern nicht mehr benutzen können.
Wenn Malwarebytes problematische Schlüssel erkennt, werden die Nutzer deswegen jetzt im Zuge des sogenannten Amnesty-Programms über einen Hinweis in der Software informiert. Dort können sich dann auch Raubkopierer eine zwölfmonatige, kostenlose Lizenz aktivieren. Wer stattdessen die Option mit der Aufschrift "Ich habe meinen Schlüssel gekauft" wählt, erhält eine Ersatzlizenz. Laut dem Blog TorrentFreak handelt es sich dabei um eine kostenlose Lizenz auf Lebenszeit, bei Malwarebytes ist von der gleichen Lizenz wie vorher die Rede. Ob Malwarebytes prüft, ob der Nutzer tatsächlich eine Lizenz gekauft hatte, ist nicht bekannt.
